When did you start springboard or platform diving?

I am 15, going on 16 in February. I am thinking of joining the local diving club/team where I live, but I think I may have decided to join too late. Does it take a long time to gain experience, I know it won’t be an overnight process, but after a year, would I still be learning the same skills? Also I was just wondering how competitive diving scholarships are.

My senior year of high school before that had done any other similar sports just be prepared to improve quickly as what kind of high school before that had done any other people who were able to improve quickly as well.
