Scuba diving?

Rachie asked:

I’m going scuba diving in a week in California, but I’m terrified of sharks! I keep thinking of the movie Jaws! Lol :P So should I be scared or what? I’m 13 by the way so it’s my first time. I’ve never done anything of the sort so Ive never even practiced in a pool and I won’t get to! I’ll just get a lesson and go scuba diving off a beach on Catalina island. :) Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

In my honest opinion, you don’t have to be scared of anything. From what I read, it is more likely you will get hit by lightning than get bitten by a shark. If you know how to swim, and can follow instructions you should be fine. Most of all have fun!
